Years ago when I was married we used to go to this Japanese restaurant in London every once in a while. The place was great and super fun… Teppanyaki … delicious food and this TO DIE FOR amazing salad dressing which I LOVE. They even bottled it so you could buy it to take home… which I would.Well, we stopped going there as we didn’t have to go to London much… at one point I found a close one in the grocery store… but then they stopped carrying it. Other ones I’d find too “sesame-y”… some recipes I found had ketchup in them (meh.)
I found a couple online and tried them, then modified.. .and his is the closest I’ve come. I LOVE IT on salad.. just lettuce and tomato is delish. And it makes a great marinade for salmon and I’ve even used it to marinate chicken and do stir fry… SO GOOD.
Really really like this …. Enjoy!!
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons minced or grated fresh ginger root (the original recipe called for less, but I LOVE GINGER… so adjust to taste…)
- 3/4 cup canola oil (or whichever oil you like best)
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup vinegar — I used apple cider vinegar which gives it a nice punch.. rice vinegar, also good. Adjust for taste – I like it vinegary so use 1/2 cup
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey (melt if not using liquid kind or you could use sugar if you wish)
- 1/2 cup water
I added all the ingredients to the blender and blended it up. Then I ate some by the spoonful.. then on salad. Then on various things. I can’t get enough.
